Celestial Verdant Duo · Wood-Virtue Transcendence Prayer Beads

Origin · Legacy of Shennong
During the Xuanhe era of the Northern Song Dynasty, herb gatherers discovered extraordinary green sandalwood deep within the Zhongnan Mountains. This wood, emerald as spring water, bore natural patterns resembling the Eight Trigrams and exuded amber-like dew each Grain Rain season. Craftsmen from Jinling fashioned the wood into beads, interspersing them with century-old prayer beads from Wutai Mountain, and adorned the strand with a vermilion palace bead made from Emei Mountain's crimson vine, creating a double-loop structure that embodies the principle of "Yin-Yang轮回."

Mystery · Wood-Virtue Spiritual Connection
The dark patterns in the green sandalwood are known as "Celestial Script Grains": cloud patterns enhance wisdom and enlightenment, water ripple patterns improve interpersonal harmony, and annual ring patterns stabilize family and enterprise. A Yangzhou salt merchant observed the grain on his beads gradually forming the "Kun Hexagram" over three years, eventually leading him to become the head of the Jianghuai salt industry. Monks from Wutai Mountain use the prayer beads to count meditation recitations; after a thousand repetitions, the beads develop golden veins and emit an increasingly serene fragrance.

Essence · Tri-Source Energy Convergence
The green sandalwood carries the burgeoning energy of the East (Azure Dragon), the prayer beads gather the consolidating essence of the West (White Tiger), and the vermilion palace bead contains the luminous fire of the South (Vermilion Bird). These three materials create a configuration of "Wood-Fire Illumination," particularly resonating with the stomach meridian during the Chen hour (7–9 AM). Practitioners may observe amber halos gradually forming on the surface of the prayer beads.

Bond · Five Elements Tempering
According to the ancient methods recorded in "Youyang Zazu," the green sandalwood must be harvested during the clear dawn dew of the Qingming Festival and fumigated with Wuyi Mountain rock tea for seven times seven days. The prayer beads require recitations of the "Diamond Sutra" by monks, while the vermilion palace bead must be soaked in Yunnan red clay slurry. When wearing, the double loops should intertwine around the wrist. During morning practice, one may rotate the prayer beads for mindfulness. Avoid wearing them alongside white jade or giant clamshells.

"Verdant wood embodies primordial energy,
Crimson beads turn the dharma wheel."
— May these beads help you comprehend the spirit of plants and witness the truth of life.
